Dr. Gary Hill

Dr. Gary Hill

Dr. Gary Hill is a licensed Clinical Psychologist, a licensed Marital and Family Therapist and a Certified Supervisor Addictions Counselor in the State of Illinois. He also has post-doctoral training in Family Systems, having completed both the clinical and advanced externships at the Institute for Juvenile Research in Chicago.

Dr. Hill has extensive experience treating adults, school-age children, and adloscents as well as families and couples.  During your time together, Dr. Hill will help you explore the sources of your difficulties and help you make the necessary changes. To do this he draws upon his many years of practice and training and utilizes principles from  numerous areas of psychology, such as interpersonal, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, family systems, attachment, object relations, and analytic models.  The length of therapy varies from client to client and depends on what you want to accomplish.

Before forming GRH Consulting, LLC in 2009, Dr. Hill was the Director of Clinical Services at the Family Institute at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. A sought after industry expert, Dr. Hill has been invited to speak at numerous national conferences and routinely presents his training seminars in the Chicagoland area, as well as throughout the country.  He has also been a welcomed as guest on several local and national radio and television programs.

Meg Racenstein

J. Meg Racenstein, Ph.D., is a licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist in private practice. Dr. Racenstein has extensive experience conducting neuropsychological assessments of school age children, adolescents and young adults with known or suspected attentional, psychological, developmental, learning or substance-induced disorders, as well as intellectually gifted individuals.  Dr. Racenstein focused her research on patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and the dual diagnosis of substance abuse.  She studied the differential diagnosis and assessment of psychiatric symptomatology, as well as cognitive and psychosocial functioning in these population subsets. 

Dr. Racenstein received her B.S. degree in Psychology at the University of Illinois, Champaign; followed by her M.A., in Community Counseling at Loyola University, Chicago.  She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Institute of Psychology.  She completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship training in Neuropsychology at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago.

Karen Fogarty earned her MSW from the University of Illinois, Chicago/Jane Addams College of Social Work and has over 20 years experience in the mental health field including inpatient psychiatric counseling, assessment and referral, business management and utilization review/quality assurance.  She is knowledgeable with mental health insurance, which has assisted her in developing meaningful treatment plans for clients. 

Karen specializes in children, adolescents, and families while also working with adults and couples.  Her therapeutic approach is strength-based and solution-focused.  She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.  She focuses on each client’s individual needs and circumstances.

Karen also has training and experience in advocating and assisting victims of domestic violence situations.  This background has aided her work with individuals, couples and families that are experiencing conflict or crisis within the home.
